Today Marked the Opening of the Newly Refurbished Food Science Lab (Lab 3) for the Medical and biological sciences. The Team was Led by Uasin Gishu County Director of TVET, Mr. Gichuru Mutulili, BOG Members Led by Our Chair Prof David Some and Members of the RVTTI Administration Led by Our Able Principal Mr. Bwambok.
Uasin Gishu County Director of TVET noted that he was proud to be associated with RVTTI . He urged the trainers to Merge Skill, Competence, entrepreneurship and innovation in their training. BOG Chair Prof David Some also reiterated the same comments, He noted that a shop should be attached to the food science Lab and Thorough Marketing should be done. There was also need for Quality Improvement with time
The Laboratory comes in handy since the MBS Department are engaged in food processing and preservation . Some of the products to be processed at the Lab include, pastries, dairy products like ghee, butter, yogurt. Meat products like sausages, minced meat, fish fillet. Others include jam, tomato sauce, ketchup, chili sauce, peanut butter and the list is endless.
